Russian ISS crew leaves for Baikonur

Cosmonauts bound for the international space station were visited by their families at a training center in Star City outside Moscow.

The crew include Russian commander Roman Romanenko, his Belgian colleague from the European Space Agency, Frank De Winne, and Robert Thirsk, a cosmonaut from the Canadian Space Agency. During the flight, they will carry out various scientific experiments.

The crew will lift off from Baikonur space center in Kazakhstan on May 27th.
