"Dream of Flying", a movie celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, announced the start date for filming on Monday in Beijing. Director Ning Haiqiang, along with cast members Huang Yi, Wang Ban, Liu Guangjie and Zhu Xinyun, were at the press release.

The picture will be filmed on location at a military air force base. It revolves around the force commanders Yue Tianlong, Yin Shuanghu and their fellow men, who challenge themselves in completing a number of sophisticated flying missions. But the biggest star in the movie is not a human being. It is a J-10 fighter plane that has never appeared on the big screen before.

"Dream of Flying" unveils some of the high technology of China's military aircraft, and it celebrates the achievements of China's air force over the years.

The leading cast will be offered opportunities to get up close to the J-10 fighter and receive basic training in flight simulation.

Ning Haiqiang, Director, said, "The actors must get to know the plane. Only when they develop a feeling for the plane, and care for it as if it were a human being, will they be able to perform naturally. So I think it's a must for the performers to have direct contact with the plane."

Huang Yi made a radical switch this time, playing a captain pilot. Apart from the planes, Huang also used motorbikes in the movie.

Huang Yi, Actress, said, "Besides planes, I still need to ride motorbikes a lot. There're no stunning special effects. What I needed to do was to actually ride the motorbike and keep it synchronized with the plane beside me."

The movie is scheduled for completion within two months. Director Ning is confident that it will do well at the box office believing that the film will draw audiences of all ages.
