Jane Eyre cast prepares for premiere

Jane Eyre, a name that resonates in the hearts and minds of countless women and girls. A love story that overcomes all obstacles of time and social class. And now, this classic 19th century British novel by Charlotte Bront? is being brought onstage in Beijing.

There is a press conference on June 7, 2009 at the National Center for the Performing Arts where members of the press and the general public got to meet the director of the play and the leading actor and actress. The man who will play Rochester, his name is Wang Luoyong. He's known as Broadway's leading Chinese male. The woman who will play Jane Eyre, her name is Yuan Quan. She is often called the Princess of the Stage.

Those who attended the event were rewarded beyond their expectations. Yuan Quan treated the audience to a short concert of piano music that she will be performing during the actual play.
