Chinese actor Wang Baoqiang endeared himself to audiences with his stubborn portrayal of Xu Sanduo in the 2007 television drama, Soldiers Attack. Now he's donning a military uniform again for another drama, "My Brother's Name is Smoothie".

The TV drama is set during China's War Against Japanese Aggression in the 1940s. Wang Baoqiang plays the lead character, a restless recruit nicknamed "Smoothie". An excellent sniper, the soldier carries his gun wherever he goes, and the man and his weapon are practically inseparable. Playing opposite Wang Baoqiang is Zhang Guoqiang, who plays the superior officer of Smoothie. The two actors have had many collaborations in the past.

From the big screen blockbuster "A World Without Thieves" to the TV drama "Soldiers Attack", Wang Baoqiang has built a wide-ranging fan base. Millions were deeply impressed by the simplicity and sincerity of his performances. In "My Brother's Name is Smoothie", Wang Baoqiang has taken a departure from his former style. The new role is far from a simple soldier.

Actor Wang Baoqiang said, "Smoothie is a marksman. He's very stubborn. It is hard to imagine such a smart and stubborn person. He's silent most of the time. It's not proper for a sharpshooter to be very talkative. But he's very critical in his comments on things. He does not tolerate any nonsense."
