SAN JOSE, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Honduras' post-coup leader, Roberto Micheletti, had accepted the mediation of Costa Rican President Oscar Arias in the conflict of his country, Costa Rican government sources said on Tuesday.
The sources also said that Arias will mediate if ousted President Manuel Zelaya also approves his intermediation on the conflict.
The spokesmen told Xinhua that "if both parts do not accept it, the president can not be mediator," and they added that Arias was not making any kind of actions or consultation related to the issue.
Costa Rica received Zelaya on June 28, when he was expelled against his will, by the armed forces from Honduras.
Arias condemned the violent events in Honduras and he expressed his solidarity with the Honduran people.
The Zelaya's forced ousting from Honduras meant the beginning of the destabilization in the country, which has produced tens of injured and it has killed at least three people.
