List of 10 most livable cities in China issued

The Chinese Institute of City Competitiveness issued a list on Wednesday, July 8 in Hong Kong, ranking the top 10 most livable cities in China for 2009, Chinanews.com reports.

Qingdao, Shandong Province

This year, Qingdao was ranked the country's most livable city. Following up on the second and third places are Suzhou and Taizhou.

This is the fifth year the institute has published the ranking. The list does not include cities that appeared on the previous year's list.

Factors that decide the top 10 cities cover a beautiful environment, safe society, advanced civilization, dynamic economy and good reputation.

The institute investigated 289 cities before making selections.
