TEGUCIGALPA, July 10 (Xinhua) -- The Honduran police said on Friday that they had arrested the father of a young man who died during the protests demanding the reinstatement of ousted President Manuel Zelaya.
According to a police spokesman, the 55-year-old father, Jose David Murillo Sanchez, had been on the police wanted list since 2004 on charges of homicide.
Murillo's son, Isis Obed Murillo, was shot dead on July 5 outside the Toncontin Airport in Tegucigalpa during a clash between Zelaya's supporters and the Honduran police and military.
After Isis dead, the police began the investigations and contacted Murillo, who was found to be a suspect at large.
Murillo was detained on Thursday in Tegucigalpa and taken to Olancho department, some 200 km east of the capital, for a pending trial, said the police.
