Linkin Park says Hi ahead of Shanghai gig

2009-07-15 17:36 BJT

Chester Bennington, the frontman of American rock band Linkin Park, has taped a greeting video for Chinese fans who are eagerly awaiting his band's second Shanghai show, scheduled for August 15.

Sitting in what appears to be a recording studio, Bennington told fans that "we're super, super excited and we can't wait to come back."

Linkin Park made its Chinese mainland debut with a sold-out show in Shanghai in 2007. The band planned to return last year, before Bennington suffered a back injury, which resulted in the cancellation of the planned tour.

Disappointment followed, dominating online fan forums.

Earlier this month, Linkin Park announced that it would stage a show at the Shanghai Stadium on August 15.

"I apologize for making you wait so long," Bennington said in the video, "See you there!"
