France is the first country that confirmed its participation at the Shanghai Expo. The France Pavilion -- dubbed the "Sensual City" -- offers a simple building with a huge French-style garden inside. Surrounded by water, the pavilion appears to be floating.

For the first time the French government will send historic artwork from seven pioneers such as Auguste Rodin and Vincent Van Gogh to China. Seven airplanes will carefully take the seven pieces of art to Shanghai.

Frank Serrano said, "The seven pictures have never left France at the same time. So we regard them as the French people's gift to the Chinese people."

The France Pavilion will showcase not only works of art but the sights, smells and sounds of France. The French government is spending 50 million Euros on the project.
