1. The Great Blue Hole, Belize
There are many blue holes - underwater sinkholes in the Belize Sea -
and the Great Blue Hole is the largest and most famous one off the
coast of Belize. It lies near the center of Lighthouse Reef, a small
atoll 90 kilometers from the mainland and Belize City. The hole is
circular in shape, more than 300 meters wide, and 122 meters deep.
Today it is a perfect site for diving.
