Chinese language speaking contest enter final round

The second Chinese language contest for foreign students in China will enter its final round. Nearly a hundred contestants from more than 42 countries and the organizers behind the competition held a news conference in Beijing on Thursday morning.

Thirty contestants will enter the final round after two day's of competition in Beijing. The topic is "Impression of China". More and more foreigners are learning Chinese. The number has exceed over 40 million and is still increasing. As the name "Chinese Bridge" implies, the competition aims to offer a bridge to people who are studying Chinese and interested in China and its rich culture.

"Chinese Bridge" competition is jointly sponsored by China Central Television and the office of Chinese Language Council International. The 30 finalists will show their Chinese language skills and share their feelings and stories about China. The award ceremony will be broadcast live on CCTV Channel 4 on August the 30th.
