In another celebration of the 60th birthday of the People's Republic of China, renowned Chinese mainland diva, Tan Jing, had her solo concert at the Great Wall's Mutianyu section on Saturday.

At a press conference held earlier in the week, Tan Jing talked about the three days she spent retracing Chairman Mao Zedong's footsteps by visiting his home in central China's Hunan Province, and traveling to Beijing where he sat for the college entrance examination in 1918. She also sang her latest song "Be Grateful to the Motherland".

The internationally renowned Chinese pianist, Li Yundi, was the featured guest of Tan's concert. They paired up to perform "Symphony of Harmonization".

Singer Tan Jing said, "We first met each other back in 2006. At that time, I was preparing for my concert at the Vienna Golden Hall. We met at CCTV's concert celebrating Mozart's 250th birthday and we became friends immediately. After that, we started to look for an opportunity to collaborate. Now the chance has come!"

That's how the crossover performance came to be. Both Tan Jing and Li Yundi regard it a special gift for the 60th National Day of New China.
