The Culture and Arts Festival of Asia-Europe Meeting concluded its inaugural run at Beijing's Chaoyang Park on Tuesday night. Performers from Asian and European countries have presented a myriad of singing and dancing bringing the festival to a grand finale.

Dancers from Vietnam and Myanmar created the feeling of southeast Asia in their performance of regional dances.

They were followed by the young and dashing Romanian Ciubancan Muour Petru who has a blossoming career as a singer in China. Petru was the winner of a Foreigners' Talent Show in 2001 in Beijing.

Ciubancan Muour Petru, Romanian singer, said, "This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Romania. I felt that a song was in need for the occasion. So I asked a Chinese friend to write a song about the friendship between the two countries.

Actors from the Cyprus-based Alexandra Traditional Dance Workshop brought their indigenous Cypriot and Greek dances. The effervescent moves of the Cyprus actors and the shy and modest ones from actresses are typical of a traditional Cypriot wedding.

The actors say that their trip to China was a dream come true.
