MTV Latin America Awards announced

Music stars including Shakira and Juanes gathered in Bogota to present the MTV Latin America Awards on Sunday. Spanish singer and songwriter Alejandro Sanz and Colombian singer Carlos Vives were among the winners.

Peruvian group 'Addamo' was honored with the prize for Best New Artist-Central while Don Tetto was named the Central region's Best Artist. Other awards have already been handed out for the South and North regions in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Mexico City in the lead-up to the official MTV Latin America Awards in Los Angeles set for October 15th. Shakira, who is also from Colombia, had a big night as a presenter, and used the occasion to officially present her new album "She Wolf".
