Truck runs into crowd, killing 19 in N China county

SHIJIAZHUANG, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- At least 19 people were confirmed dead after a truck ran into a roadside crowd Thursday evening in Luanxian county of northern China's Hebei province, local police said Friday morning.

The accident happened at around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday in Zhaozhuangzi village of Yangliuzhuang town, when a truck ran into the rear of another vehicle and then rushed into a roadside crowd. A total of 32 people were hospitalized, and of them 19 have been dead.

The driver and the owner of the truck have been brought under control by the local police, and cause of the accident is being investigated.
