Russia's Bolshoi theatre presents a new production of "La Fille mal Gardee," but on stage in place of the Bolshoi's own ballet troupe are a group of young and gifted dancers.

Russia's famous Bolshoi theatre presents an unusual premiere. Instead of the Bolshoi's own ballet troupe there are young dancers from the Moscow State Choreographic Academy.

Students of various ages, from 10 to 17, will perform in one of the world's most famous ballets "La Fille mal Gardee".

The ballet follows a very simple plot -- peasant girl Lise and peasant boy Colas are in love and want to marry. However, the Widow Simone, Lise's mother, wants her to marry the dimwitted, but extremely rich, Alain. In the end, true love wins.

16-year-old Anastasia Soboleva, a student at the Moscow State Academy of Choreography and the winner of the Moscow International Ballet Competition, was selected to dance the leading role in the ballet.

Anastasia Soboleva said, "When you rehearse every element separately ten times, everything works out well, but when you have to dance all of them together and when you have danced through most of the ballet and you still have to come onto the stage and to perform the fouette turns or some other difficult part - this is the hardest."

Artyom Belyakov, a former student of the Moscow State Choreography Academy who dances Colas.

Moscow's ballet lovers are excited about the upcoming premiere. They want a chance to see the young dancers who might soon be the stars of the Bolshoi's stage.
