Chinese pop: Five hit music videos

It's been a busy season for pop singers. Both newcomers and veterans are releasing albums and promoting their new hits. Up next is a collection of five top Music Videos from the current Chinese pop scene.

NO. 5 Guo Shuyao "Love's Embrace"

After signing with Seed Music in June, Taiwan singer Guo Shuyao has just released a new album, "Love's Embrace." The 19-year-old Guo is loved by many fans for her pure, adorable image. Her first EP, "Love's Embrace," beat out many big name artists to win the sales crown in Taiwan for two consecutive weeks. "Love's Embrace" features an electronic music style. The singer wears eight sets of costumes in the video, charming the audience with a diversity of glamorous looks.

NO. 4 Mencius Yan "Change You"

Box Music artist Mencius Yan has just unveiled the video for his new hit, "Change You." Shot using film, and featuring sets like military bases, in addition to displaying radar, bombing equipment, and helicopters, the video is more like an action blockbuster. Yan is dressed up as a magician on a love tour with an exotic foreign beauty.

NO. 3 Elva Hsiao "Shining Love"

Elva Hsiao brought her latest album, "Diamond Candy," to Beijing last week. The current hit song from "Diamond Candy" is "Shining Love." Hsiao and a half-dozen back-up dancers are dressed in shimmering clothes, dazzling the audience with their hot moves, in the eye-catching video for "Shining Love."

NO. 2 Jerry Yan "Freedom Is Back"

After five years off the pop radar, Jerry Yan returns with his new album, "Freedom is Back." More of an actor than a singer recently, Yan displays his screen skills in the music video for the title song. He sings while portraying a lovelorn role. Yan readily confesses that he likes singing even more than acting. This video lets him present his talents in both genres.

NO. 1 Angela Chang "Sometimes"

"Sometimes" is the hot hit from Angela Chang's new album, "The Fifth Season." The tune was written by musician Wang Yajun, who also penned "Invisible Wings," the singer's best known hit. Chang still sports a cute but spunky girl image, as she continues to express her independent attitude toward love.
