Nadal joins Spain's Davis Cup team

MADRID, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- World number two Rafael Nadal will play in Spain's defense of the Davis Cup in the final against the Czech Republic next month, captain Albert Costa announced on Monday.

World number eight Fernando Verdasco, David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez are team members for the December 4-6 event in Barcelona, Costa said.

Juan Carlos Ferrero or Tommy Robredo may become the reserve player, he said.

Spain, the defending champions after beating Argentina last year, will be playing their seventh Davis Cup final.
