Sail plane crashes in northwestern Turkey

ANKARA, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- A sail plane crashed in Sakarya province near Turkish largest city of Istanbul on Sunday and two people were injured including the pilot, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported.

The Brazilian pilot of the plane made an emergency landing on Sapanca lake in Sapanca town of the northwestern province when the plane had a breakdown, according to the report.

The plane sank in the lake, but the pilot survived the crash and swam to the shore, said the report, adding that the pilot was in stable condition.

The report did not give details of the other injury on board.
