PYONGYANG, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said Wednesday the obstruction by South Korea will not stop the resumption of the Mt. Kumgang tour program, the official news agency KCNA reported.

A spokesman for the DPRK Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee was quoted as saying in a statement that the DPRK had made "all possible sincerity and efforts" to resume the tour program, which reflected the reconciliation, cooperation and unification of the nation, but the South Korean authorities were taking "dishonest attitude, instead of responding to the DPRK' s good faith and magnanimity."

The "ulterior intention" of the South Korea authorities was "not to resume Mt. Kumgang tour program," the spokesman said, adding that South Korea authorities only sought to "take an active part in the U.S. farce to apply sanctions against the DPRK and thus stoke confrontation with fellow countrymen, regardless of the inter-Korean relations and the fate of businesses of the south side and its people's livelihood."

The spokesman said it was impossible to make "smooth progress in the resumption of Mt. Kumgang tour program and improve the inter-Korean relations," because "the anti-reunification elements inside South Korea," was "allowed to stay in the ministry," singling out South Korea's Unification Ministry and its Minister Hyon In Thaek for censure.
