BEIJING, Nov.25 (Xinhua) -- China's anti-corruption chief He Guoqiang on Wednesday called for enhanced supervision efforts to ensure funds of the country's economic stimulus package be properly used.

He, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said efforts should be made to ensure the implementation of major decisions and policies made by the central government.

The official said authorities should focus their efforts on issues related to domestic demand expansion, industrial restructuring, independent innovation, environmental protection and improvement of people's livelihood.

He, also a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, underlined the importance of carrying out policies on the promotion of ethnic unity and social stability.

A total of 198 Party officials have been punished in 88 cases since a nationwide inspection on the use of stimulus package funds was initiated last November, he said.
