KUALA LUMPUR, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- A China's Project Hope delegation arrived at New Era College in Malaysia Wednesday to meet local and China's media representatives.
Chairman of Perfect (China) Co., Ltd, Koo Yuen Kim expressed his hope that the trip would open the windows for the delegates to view the broader world.
He also hoped that the students who benefited from the Project Hope would do the same in future as receiving and giving aids had become a cycle of good values worth to be inculcated.
Lin Hao, aged 10, from China's Sichuan Province was among the members of delegation in the lime light.
A survivor of Wenchuan earthquake, Lin returned to school under the Project Hope assistance.
Lin told Xinhua that school fees no longer bothered him after he received donation of all kinds from kind-hearted people around the globe.
When asked about his dream, the shy boy turned serious and said that he was committed to working hard.
But he added that it was to early to reveal what his ambition is and that would best be left for future discussion when he has achieved certain goals.
Lin became a youth hero when he saved two of his classmates buried under the debris after the Wenchuan earthquake took place in Sichuan Province, China.
He was also given the honor to march together with Chinese basket baller Yao Ming into the main stadium at the opening ceremony of Beijing Olympic Games.
Lin admitted that he felt stressful occasionally but he would choose to ignore the pressure by focusing on fulfilling his own responsibility.
Lin said he was doing well at school, and hit it off with his peers.
Liu Jing, from Heilongjiang province, was forced to leave the school after her father fell sick when she was eight.
However, the Project Hope had brought her back to school, assisting also her brother to become the first university student of her village, said Liu.
Liu said that being poor was nothing horrible as poor students would be helped as long as they were willing to work hard in their future endeavors.
Zhang Shengli, from Hebei Province, was once a beggar 20 years ago but he said that the Project Hope had helped him complete primary and secondary education.
He said he was even given the opportunity to take part in torch relay for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
Committed to helping poor students, Zhang hoped that those who received aids would contribute to the society when they grew up, bringing hope to future generations.
Rang Ying, also from Sichuan Province, said it was the Project Hope that she had the chance to visit Beijing and even Atlanta in the United States.
Although she was busy with work, she would spare her time to take part in the activities organized by the Project Hope to help change the lives of the needy communities.
Fang Yaming, from Guangdong Province, said he was about to stop schooling at Grade Six, but the Project Hope assistance came in time to help him.
Now a teacher, Fang said he would share his experience with his students, encouraging them to strive for changes in their lives.
