Central government to confer a pair of giant pandas to Macao: President Hu

MACAO, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- President Hu Jintao said here Saturday the central government will confer a pair of giant pandas to the Macao Special Administrative Region.

The giant pandas will be a gift to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR, Hu said at an evening dinner held by the SAR government.

The giant pandas will bring Macao residents the deep affection and sincere care from the inland people and add joys to the celebrations, the president said.
