STOCKHOLM, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Public and private consumption drove Danish economy to an increase of slightly over 0.5 percent during the third quarter of this year, according to news reaching here from Copenhagen.

"The positive developments mean that Denmark is technically out of recession," a report from the local newspaper Politiken quoted Danske Bank's Chief Economist Steen Bocian as saying.

"The Danish economy is thus in line with the economic development in most of the other countries we compare ourselves with. The growth in the euro countries was 0.4 percent in the third quarter, while growth in Sweden was at 0.2 percent," Bocian said.

Statistics show that both private and public consumption grew by 0.6 percent in the third quarter. Exports of goods and services rose by 0.9 percent while imports grew by 0.6 percent, said the report.
