YANGON, Jan. 22 (Xinhua) -- A pilot was killed in a crash of a Myanmar military aircraft Friday morning when a training flight was underway, sources close to the aviation authorities said.

With only the pilot on board, the fighter jet F-7 military aircraft crashed when landing on the runway of Yangon military airport in Mingaladon township at 10:15 a.m. Friday.

According to the sources, the tragedy was due to the failure of extending out its wheels when it attempted to land.
