TEGUCIGALPA, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Honduran de facto leader Roberto Micheletti said Thursday that he will move out of the presidential palace six days before President-elect Porfirio Lobo Sosa is sworn in.

Micheletti said he would avoid any public appearance and would leave his cabinet in charge of day-to-day affairs so as not to become an obstacle to the inauguration of the newly-elected leader.
The move "is to bring peace and tranquility to the nation," he added.
However, Micheletti, who was named acting president after President Manuel Zelaya was ousted from office, said he would immediately return to the presidency "if there is any circumstance that obliges me" to do so.
Most countries in the world have refused to recognize the results of Honduras' Nov. 29 general elections won by Lobo.
