PYONGYANG, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- A newly developed tool was improving a range of industrial processes in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), the official news agency KCNA reported on Thursday.
According to the report, the locally developed electromagnetic striker is used for building stone processing, drilling, earth and concrete mixture tamping and incrustation removal from vessel hulls.
It said the electromagnetic striker had a noise level 1/5 lower and electricity consumption 1/8 - 1/5 less than those of a pneumatic rock-drill.
The products processed by the new striker, which weighed 10 kg and delivered 1,200 strokes per minute, were well received by users because of their delicate processing, according to the report.
