Evergreen artist Alan Tam

The Chinese New Year celebration comedy "Fortune King is Coming to Town" had its grand premiere on January the 31st in Beijing. One of the leading cast member is Hong Kong's evergreen artist Alan Tam, who plays the title role.

Leading cast members Tao Hong, Miriam Yeung, and Alan Tam joined forces to promote the comedy at the premiere. Actors extended their wishes for a prosperous new year to the crowd.

"Fortune King is Coming to Town" consists of three romantic yet hilarious stories that happen in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenyang. The title role is played by Alan Tam, whose human incarnation gives monetary support to people confronting financial difficulties.

What impresses movie critics is Tam's chic look in the film. He is required to wear an extremely exaggerated hair style with his hair dyed red.

Tam says the color red symbolizes auspiciousness and good fortune. And he hopes his on-screen look brings more laughs to cinema-goers.

Tam adds he'll be returning to the music industry soon.
