Putin talks with Kyrgyz president Bakiyev over phone

MOSCOW, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Kyrgyz President Kurmanber Bakiyev on Wednesday evening and held talks with a high-ranking official of the interim Kyrgyz government, the Interfax news agency said.

"Prime Minister Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Kurmanber Bakiyev on late Wednesday at the latter's initiative," Putin's press service reported.

Putin also had talks with Almazbek Atambayev, deputy prime minister in the interim Kyrgyz government, the press service said.
