BEIJING, April 22 (Xinhua) -- The Czech Republic will bring "the best of its culture" to China with the Czech cultural festival starting next month, according to ambassador Libor Secka.

The two-month festival will feature Czech's two strengths: ballet and sculpture.

The Czech National Theater ballet troupe will perform The Nutcracker, a major classical ballet ensemble, in the Chinese capital and in the coastal city of Yantai in east China in May.

Sculpture has played an important role in Czech art since the Middle Ages. The exhibition entitled "New Sensitivity" centers on the glass sculpture of the 1960s-1980s which gave rise to a new artistic sphere.

The cultural event is being organized by the ministries of culture of both countries. It comes after a Chinese culture festival was held in the Czech Republic from October 2009 to January 2010.
