US electric car maker Tesla has unveiled a new, cheaper model targeting the mass market. The Model 3 will be sold at a base price of 35,000 US dollars, half of price of Models X and S.
The more affordable price attracted over 115,000 orders in 24 hours. That's nearly three times the number of last year's entire production. Buyers can expect to take delivery next year. Tesla says the new car will be compatible with a fast-charging battery technology and self-driving system.
