Many Chinese take advantage of the Qingming public holiday to enjoy the beautiful spring days. The past weekend saw record tourist numbers nationwide. One new trend is the road trip in a recreational vehicle.

Driving a van with beds and kitchen saves people what may be the biggest headache during a crowded holiday----finding accommodation. Thousands of tourists used the RV camps in the Beijing suburbs during the weekend.

"It's a good way for a whole family to travel together. We've been to a lot places driving an RV -- Dalian, Shanghai, and we even drove an RV in Thailand."
