China will overcome the middle-income trap and forge a new type of great-power relationship with the United States. That's according to the Chinese ambassador to the U.S.  -- Cui Tiankai. 

Cui said this weekend in Philadelphia that clear-mindedness, vision, and hard work by its people would help China become a modern nation. Cui said China would continue to restructure its economy to realize the Chinese dream. The ambassador also said that China and the U.S. should work jointly to construct a new type of great-power relationship. He called for enhanced communications, cooperation, and mutual trust between the two countries.
