Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu says the EU-Turkey deal aiming to control the flow of refugees into Europe is working.

Speaking during an official visit to Finland, Davutoglu said the number of people arriving illegaly in Greece from Turkey had fallen in the past days. Data from the Greek migration ministry showed new arrivals on the Greek islands from Turkey fell to 68 in the 24 hours to Wednesday morning, down from 225 the previous day.

Since implementation of the deal began on Monday, 202 people have been deported from Greece. Greek and Turkish officials say more could be sent back this week. But asylum seekers were still trying to make the crossing.
