Subanchor: sharing economy grows rapidly in China

The sharing economy is a hybrid market model that refers to peer-to-peer-based sharing of access to goods and services. China recently released its first report about the sharing economy development in the country. 

-- With the fast development of the internet and related industries, the sharing economy has been growing rapidly in China. A report by the Internet Society of China says that the market size of China's sharing economy in 2015 was 1.96 trillion yuan, with about 50 million jobs in the sector.

-- China's sharing economy focuses mainly on six areas, including finances, services, transportation, and short-term lodging. It's estimated that over 500 million people have participated in sharing economic activities.

-- The report expects that the annual growth of the sharing economy will be at around 40 percent over the the next five years. And that by 2020, the sharing economy will occupy more than 10 percent of China's GDP.
