Residents who fled the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra will begin returning to their homes at the weekend.
When ISIL seized control of Palmyra last year, thousands of people fled west to the government-held city of Homs. Government officials say the first group of buses taking residents back to Palmyra will leave on Saturday.
Syria's armed forces recaptured Palmyra and the adjacent world-famous ruins from ISIL at the end of March, ending nearly 10 months of jihadist rule. Before the civil war erupted in 2011, more than 150,000 tourists visited the ancient ruins at Palmyra each year.
