Chen is no stranger to the second-seeded Lee. This is their 24th all-time meeting, with the Chinese leading 12-11 coming in, but the 33-year-old Malaysian had won their last two clashes.

Lee surges to a seven-point lead in the opening frame, and then serves to set up game point, which he does with this powerful smash into the corner.

On the second game point, Chen forces his opponent to retreat, but the Malaysian pushes forward again, and the Chinese sends the bird long. Lee takes it 21-13.

He continues to dominate in game two, and the World Number One sails his return out of bounds on match point. Lee wins in 42 minutes 21-13, 21-8.

In women's singles, fourth seed Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand would take on Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-Ying, and wins the first game 21-14.

Now we move to match point, as Ratchanok looks to win her second straight Super Series title, following the recent Indian Open. And after 39 minutes on the court, the Thai would prevail by a scoreline of 21-14, 21-15.

In women's doubles, fifth seeded Tang Yuanting and Yu Yang of China defeated the seventh seeds, Jung Kyung-Eun and Shin Seung-Chan, in straight sets 21-11, 21-17. The pair winning their first ever head-to-head encounter with the South Korean duo. This is also the first Super Series title for Tang and Yu, since last year's China Open.
