India and the United States have agreed to conclude an agreement on sharing military logistics. The negotiations had been ongoing for over a decade.

The Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar said the agreement will allow the US and Indian military to access each other's bases. He made the remarks during a meeting with his visiting US counterpart, Ashton Carter in New Delhi.

Carter is on a three-day visit, aimed at advancing the defense relationship between the two countries. Carter kicked off his tour on Sunday in Goa, Parrikar's home state. This is Carter's second Indian visit in less than a year.
