The much anticipated draw for the Semi-Finals of the UEFA Champions League, held in the Swiss city of Nyon. The last four teams in contention for European glory are Germany's Bayern Munich, Manchester City from England, and Spanish rivals Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. And many fans from that country were hoping those two teams would be placed on opposite sides of the bracket, in order to preserve the chances of an All-Spain Title Match.

The UEFA Competition Director, Giorgio Marchetti, and former Inter Milan midfielder Dejan Stankovic would be the men manning the bowl. And the first club drawn is Manchester City, who are in the Champions League Semi-Finals for the first time ever. So with the ice broken, everyone awaits the naming of the opponents the EPL team will be clashing with, for the right to advance to the Title Game in the Italian Fashion Capital on May 28th.

And that side will be none other than the formidible Spanish giants -- Real Madrid -- who continue to seek their 11th all-time continental title. City rivals Atletico Madrid would be the next name pulled out, so they will host Bayern Munich in the First Leg of their clash in the Last Four of this tournament. That contest is set for Wednesday -- 24 hours after City host Real.

"They are a giant of football. They won so many times. And they have reached the semi final so many times that they are absolutely a big team. We are here because we deserve to be here. We have been solid in the 1-16s (knockout stage) and solid in the quarter finals against Paris Saint-Germain so now we have the right to dream about the final," said Txiki Begiristain, Director of Football, Manchester City.

"Cristiano (Ronaldo) is a winner. And he always scores. He is amazing. When Cristiano is on the pitch we know that we are likely to score at any time so it is an advantage of course. And in the semi final he is going to be a key player as well," said Emilio Butrageuno, Director of Institutional Relations, Real Madrid.
