American actress Amber Heard has pleaded guilty to providing a false immigration document, when she entered Australia last year with her pet dogs.

Heard appeared in an apology video with her actor husband, Johnny Depp, which was played at an Australian courthouse on Monday, as part of her court appearance. Prosecutors had dropped charges against Heard of illegally "smuggling" her pet dogs into the country without proper permits.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of a year in jail, and a fine of almost 8,000 US dollars. But the judge sentenced Heard instead to a one-month "good behavior" bond.
