Full coverage: 5th CICA Foreign Ministers' Meeting

The CICA foreign ministers' meeting has wrapped up, with a declaration to promote peace, security, stability and sustainable development in Asia through dialogue and negotiation. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi made the remarks at a press conference this afternoon.  He said the discussions were in good atmosphere.

"I have three impressions about today's meeting. First, all sides praised China for bringing new vitality and new momentum into the CICA mechanism. They all showed support to China's contribution as the host country. Second, all sides shared the view that CICA should play a more important role in promoting stability and development in the region.  Third, all participants attach great importance to development in maintaining regional stability,"

"Almost all member countries said they support and will participate in the "One Belt One Road initiative" promoted by President Xi Jinping.  They believe the initiative will not only bring mutual prosperity, but also help maintain regional peace and stability," said Wang.
