Bad weather is also taking its toll in China's neighbour India. Bushfires in the country's Uttarakhand State have killed seven people and they are still raging. The fires started in February. Over one-thousand-two-hundred hectares of forests have been swept through.

Officials say decreased rainfall is one of the causes. They also blame villagers who burn off crop stalks. Meanwhile, rare high temperatures are also scorching the South Asian country.  Part of Northern India has seen temperatures as high as 48 degrees Celsius.

Authorities have issued the first heatwave warning of this year. They predict the heatwave will last until the end of June -- before the arrival of the rainy season.
