31 passengers were injured when an Jakarta-bound Etihad Airways flight encountered sudden turbulence on Wednesday.
Etihad said that flight EY474 from its hub in Abu Dhabi was hit by "severe and unexpected turbulence" before landing at Soekarno Hatta International Airport in the Indonesian capital. Etihad said 31 passengers were injured, nine of whom were taken to hospital for treatment.
The airline did not provide details on the severity of the injuries. It added that it would do its best to help passengers suffering losses. As a result of this incident, flight EY475 from Jakarta to Abu Dhabi on Wednesday has been cancelled.
