China and the United Nations have signed an agreement to establish the Peace and Development Fund. According to the agreement, China will fund two-hundred-million US dollars to UN within ten years.

The Peace and Development Fund is split into two sub-funds -- one supporting peace and security, and the other towards implementing a 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon expressed his appreciation towards China's contribution to the UN.
