Foreign cargo ship grounded for sinking Chinese fishing boat

A foreign cargo ship has been grounded for sinking a Chinese fishing boat with 19 on board in the East China Sea.

An initial investigation showed that a Maltese cargo ship, the Catalina, is suspected of hitting the local fishing boat. Two crew members were saved but later died. Seventeen remain missing.

The Donghai Fleet of the Chinese navy and other ships nearby are searching for the missing. The foreign cargo has been grounded and about 20 crew, including the captain, are in custody.
