ASEM Media dialogue: Media expected to play bigger role in connectivity

The Asia-Europe Meeting Media dialogue concluded today in the Southern city of Guangzhou. About 200 media, officials and business representatives from 51 Asian and European countries and regions participated in the two-day meeting, which aims to strengthen cooperation on promoting connectivity.

This is the first professional media dialogue in 20 years of Asia-Europe meetings. Major Media Representatives from Asia and Europe discussed the role the media plays in promoting the connectivity.

The theme of this dialogue is to promote public awareness and partnership. Experts and officials suggested the media can promote a wider range of cultural, people to people, business and political exchanges.

The media can be a means of communication and understanding between people from different countries. Through these meetings and discussions, media representatives from Asian and European countries are seeking more active roles in promoting connectivity.
