The Islamic State group has launched a coordinated assault on a natural gas plant north of Baghdad, killing at least 14 people. The attack started at dawn Sunday, as a suicide car bomber crashed into the plant’s main gate in the town of Taji, about 20 kilometers north of the Iraqi capital.

Several suicide bombers and militants then broke into the plant, clashed with security forces and set fire to the facility. The director of the plant’s fire brigade said his team has managed to control and extinguish most of the blaze.
