Walking out to Changchun's Jingkai Stadium was Wolfsburg as the Bundesliga side kicked off for the first ever time in China. With one eye on the upcoming European Championships coach Dieter Hecking rested key man Andre Schurrlle included the promising Julian Draxler and Dutch veteran Bas Dost who proved to be their biggest threats.

Wolfsburg could only manage an eighth placed finish in Germany's top division this season but the clubs sporting director Klaus Allof says the clubs ambitions need to remain high so they can compete with the country's best.

The German's struggled to open the scoring against the CSL's bottom club and were understandably tired after a long flight the previous day. Yatai also excluded some of their important figures, including captain Darko Matic, in a bid to keep on top of the busy Chinese schedule. The visitors eventually took total control in the second half with Draxler being at the centre of the onslaught to provide for his teams two goals. Headers from Robin Knoche and Josuha Guilavogui finally handed them a 2-0 victory which gives Coach Hecking hope his players can carry the momentum to the national team.

After this encounter in the North-east, next up for Wolfsburg is a trip down south to Zhuhai to face Dutch champions PSV Eindoven as they look to end their first tour in China with complete success.
