Chinese and American trade leaders discussed a variety of issues during the eighth annual meeting of the China-US CEO and Former Senior Officials' Dialogue.
Representatives from the China Center for International Economic Exchanges said that the China-US relationship is stable but potential risks still exist.
They suggested during the two-day meeting in Washington that the two countries rationally consider foreign policy and deal with trade disputes according to WTO rules.
A joint statement released after the meeting suggests that the two countries should promote bilateral trade and quickly complete negotiations on an investment treaty.
The statement also urges the reinforcement of intellectual property protections and boost cooperation in such areas as technological innovation and the Belt and Road initiative.
