Chinese businessman Dr Tony Xia talks about his takeover of Aston Villa

This week Chinese businessman Tony Xia completed his take over of English Premier League side Aston Villa. This brought about the end of a 10 year reign of American Randy Learner who leaves the club after a disastrous season which saw them relegated to the Championship with just 2 wins all season. The move has raised some eyebrows in England but Xia wants fans to know he plans to bring to good times back to Villa Park.

The beach ball protest from Villa fans during their final home game was their way of showing they want change. And it arrived in the form of Chinese businessman Tony Xia who completed a 110 million U.S. dollar take over of the club this week as he hope to bring Villa back from disappear.

"The most important thing for now and the first priority is for the club is to be promoted. If we can do it right away, in one year, and after that we are trying to get the club back to the top six in the Premiership - where Villa should be," Xia said.

His Recon group owns five publicly listed companies on the stock exchanges in China and employs 35,000 people from 75 different counties. But despite this huge amount of power he wants the Villa faithful to know he won't interfere with the football decisions.

"As a club, we may need to face a lot of problems. But I will not do something like jump in and interfere with their final decision. So, for example, I will not push them to accept a Chinese player to be on the field," Xia said.

As for now the question on everyone's lips is who is going to take charge in the dug-out at Villa Park.

"I would rather keep it a secret for one more week. And I hope all the fans, including myself, will accept he will be the right one," Xia said. said.
